The voice AI market has historically been dominated by American players such as OpenAI and ElevenLabs. These technologies are powerful and often ahead on certain uses.
However, the strategic question goes beyond a simple technical comparison. It concerns:

- dependence on hyperscalers,
- the ability to adapt to European markets,
- alignment with local regulatory requirements.
In parallel, French players such as Mistral AI for text models and Gradium for voice demonstrate that a credible European ecosystem is emerging.
The point is not to set technologies against each other, but to build coherent architectures suited to the business and regulatory context.
Towards a more sovereign, better-controlled AI stack
The current approach often consists of combining different technical building blocks: language model, voice engine, workflow orchestration, knowledge base (RAG), controlled hosting.
